We Scanned 13 Real US Dental Implant Practices for AI Visibility — Here's What We Found

We ran a real AI visibility scan on 13 independent dental implant practices in Miami and Dallas. Average score: 10%. More than half never appeared at all. Here's the full breakdown.

We wanted to know what actually happens when a real patient asks AI about a dental implant practice. Not theory — an actual GEO experiment. We took 13 real, independent dental implant practices — 5 in Miami, 8 in Dallas — ran a real AI visibility scan on each one through Nochach's own engine, and recorded every result.

The headline finding: an average visibility score of just 10%. And more than half the practices we tested never appeared at all — not "ranked low," completely absent from the AI's answers.

Methodology

For each practice, Nochach's engine (the same one live at nochach.app/en/scan) read the practice's website, generated 7 real questions a patient would actually ask AI about dental implants in that area (cost, whether it's worth it vs. alternatives, process/timeline, "who's most recommended," and niche-specific questions), and asked each question to both Perplexity and Claude. Score = how many of the 7 questions mentioned the practice.

The headline numbers

  • Average score: 10% — meaning the average practice was mentioned in under 1 out of 7 questions.
  • 7 out of 13 (54%) scored 0% — completely absent across every question we tested.
  • The highest score in the study: 29% (3 practices) — even the "winners" missed 5 out of 7 questions.
  • 9 out of 13 (69%) lost outright to a specific named competitor on a real question we tested.

The most interesting finding: even the "winners" aren't safe

One Dallas practice lost the question "is it worth paying a specialist for implants" to another practice — one that was also in our study, and which itself scored 0% and lost to a general implant-information site. That chain shows how unstable AI visibility actually is: you can be the practice someone else lost to, while being completely invisible on the very next question.

4 takeaways from the data

1. Cost questions are where visibility dies hardest

In almost every practice we tested, "how much does a dental implant cost" was among the missed questions. Practices that hadn't published a clear price range on their site simply didn't come up when a patient asked about cost.

2. "Most recommended" questions are nearly impossible to win

Questions phrased like "who's the most recommended implant specialist in [city]" almost never surfaced any of the 13 practices. AI pulls from entirely different sources for these superlative-style questions.

3. The most expensive procedures have the worst visibility

The questions about the highest-ticket, most complex procedures — full-arch reconstruction, All-on-4, full mouth rehabilitation — were exactly where most practices scored 0%. The exact place it matters most to be visible.

4. Half the field simply doesn't exist to AI

7 of 13 practices scored a flat 0%. That's not "ranked low" — it means that when AI is asked about the exact service they offer, it doesn't know they exist.
